You can schedule a batch job that will periodically scan the server table for server candidates identified for uploading and upload the respective fp_upload.txt file. You must add an existing Help Launchpad server to a list of servers that are scheduled to be automatically updated. Then you must create the batch job. The job, when submitted, will read the table of servers to find which one(s) are to be updated.
Refer to “Customizing the FUNCTION NAVIGATION_EXECUTE_OBJECT_HELP Function” for information on the SAP customizations required to enable this functionality. When enabled, the auto notification option informs users when help content has been updated. If a user accesses a transaction that has updated content available, a standard message is displayed indicating that the selected transaction has new content. The detection of updated content is performed by the uPerform content verification process and is passed to Help Launchpad during the fp_upload.txt processing. Refer to “Controlling the Messages Sent” for information on configuring the display of the auto notification messages. There are two basic steps to enabling auto notification:
- Activate auto notifications for the SAP system.
- Ensure auto notification is activated for a designated server(s). This option is activated by default for a server.
Auto notification functionality is not available for SAP HTML GUI users.
