By default, the Server has four end user website skins available. Software versions prior to 5.4, use website skin uPerform01 as the default skin. Versions 5.4 and greater use Website02 as the default. The website skin folders are stored on the application (web) server. Each skin folder contains all of the image, style, and transform files that control the formatting and display of the end user website.
Before creating a custom for your end use website, (from the Administration options on the Server), you must create a new end user website skin folder based on one of the four website skins installed with the application.
Creating a Custom Website Folder
- Access the application server file system.
- Navigate to [InstallLocation]\Vignette\Collaboration\WWW.
- Make a copy in the same location of one of the default end user website skin folders (uPerform01-uPerform04 or Website01-Website04, depending on the version installed).
- Rename the new folder appropriately (for example, AcmeERP01).
Do not use the text "uPerform" in your new folder name as this may impact files for future releases.
Branding Website Features
Branding changes and many website customizations can be applied to website skins 02, 03, and 04 using the custom.css stylesheet. Custom.css will allow you to update logos, icons, and the website color scheme. Many of these customizations are already listed within the file ready to be enabled. This stylesheet is not overwritten during upgrade, meaning your website functionality will be upgraded automatically and your branding changes will remain in place. For this reason, we recommend making changes within an existing skin using custom.css whenever possible. If you are performing more extensive customizations which require changes to the XSL files, we recommend creating a custom website skin to ensure your customizations are not lost. On upgrade you may need to upgrade your custom website skin in this case. Please refer to the release notes regarding website upgrades.
